A little rearranging and a new table

Well first off I found a new dining room table.   I have been wanting a farmhouse table forever and wanted this shape and it was only $50.00.   Can't bet that!!  I didn't take a before picture, but the legs were kind of buttery color.  I painted them white and plan on redoing the top.  I am thinking golden oak or walnut.  I am not sure what do you think?  I am  pretty sure it is solid wood too and it is super heavy.  I would love to get some different chairs someday.   Maybe even a different bench too.

Do you ever get a wild hair and start rearranging stuff late at night?  Well I did and changed up the wall behind my couch and I really liked the way it looks.  Something different for a change.  I got the old window at the thrift store for $2.  Hung the "W" from strip of fabric and I already had the plates.   When I rearrange things I like the house clean.  So I spent today cleaning my house.

I think winter is officially here!

It has been so cold here in Alabama!  This morning I woke up to frost over the ground and freezing cold.  I am pretty much a cold blooded person so freezing cold weather doesn't set very well with me!  I done a little Christmas decor outside because we are trying to sell our house and I didn't want to have to take a ton of it down.  So if anybody is looking for a house to buy in mine please....just kidding well not really.

So here is the outside of my house

I made some initial glass ball ornaments last year.   I bought some clear glass ball ornaments last year at Hobby Lobby,  bag of fake snow, and some stick on letters from the scrapbook section.  I took the caps off of the balls and stuffed the snow inside.  Stuck one of the letters on front.  Instead of using plain ornament hangers I used ribbon to tie it to the tree to give it some jazz. I actually done that to several other ornaments too.  I just tied it in a loose knot instead of bow.  I made everybody in my family ornaments with their initials on them.  They would make great gifts for Christmas or even for teachers.

Some of my favorite things!

1.  St. Ives Naturally Clear Blemish & Blackhead Control Apricot Scrub.

Naturally Clear Blemish & Blackhead Control Apricot Scrub
This stuff is really awesome!  I have breakouts from time to time.  Using this morning and night helps control everything and its cheap!

2.  St. Ives Timeless Skin Collagen Elastin Facial Moisturizer

St. Ives Timeless Skin Collagen Elastin Facial Moisturizer 10 oz (283 g)

I heart this moisturizer!  I have NEVER been able to use them because my breakout prone skin cannot take them.  I desperately needed something because I get really dry sometimes.  This leaves my face so soft and does not break me out at all and again its dirt cheap!

3.    Mrs Meyers Cleaners

I have looking for this for a while and finally found some at my Winn Dixie.  I bought the Basil and Lemon Verbena.  I have only used the Basil and it smells great!  It is a little strong, but I love it.  The smell definitely lingers for awhile.

4.  Target Mossimo Riding boots

Product Image Women's Mossimo Supply Co. Kachiri Leather Americana Boots - Taupe

Love, Love these boots!  They are so comfy and for the price you can't beat it.  I got these for my birthday and so glad I did!  Mine are kind of brownish-grey.

5.  Chi Silk Infusion

Product Image CHI Silk Infusion - 6 oz.

I have super thick, course, curly hair.  I straighten my hair and before I do so I put this on wet.  This stuff makes my hair so soft and so much less frizzy.  It is the best thing I have ever used!  It is kind of expensive, but I only use a dime size so it goes a long way.

I will be back very soon with more decorating ideas and new tutorials!  I hope everybody had a fabulous Thanksgiving!  We had a great time with our families.

Rooms fit for two princesses + A mini tutorial for a monogram lampshade

Princesses are definitely what I think of my girls and so I gave them just that.  For my oldest we told her that we would make her room a big girl for Christmas.  I had so much fun with her room!  Her curtains are made from a chenille bedspread that my mom got off Ebay that she let me cut up.

This is my youngest daughter's room

Now for the mini tutorial on how to make a monogram lampshade.

I done mine in Microsoft word.  Now I don't recommend doing this, but I traced the font letters off of the screen.  Find the font style you like and then make the biggest letter(your last name) first.  Next I traced the "W" onto paper.   Then I typed a smaller "R  and positioned my paper next to the "W'.  Then the same with the "A".  If you use photoshop you could easily do it there also.  I am sure there is easier way, but it is just the way I did it.  Then I went back with a sharpie and colored in the letters.  Then I took the paper with sharpie side up and taped it to the underside of the lampshade.  Kind of like the picture below so you can see the letters and I used a piece of paper to show you what I am talking about since I had done this awhile back.  Definitely turn the lamp on while you do it.

I traced the letters with a pencil and went back and painted the letters with acrylic paint.  This project was pretty easy too.  I hope my tutorial was easy to understand.

I hope everybody has a wonderful weekend!!

My bargains of the day and my bedroom

We have needed luggage for so long, but its always one of those things that I never want to buy.  So today I went to a store called Dirt Cheap.  They have tons of Target items and lots of other brands.  There are lots of things that are damaged, but bunch of stuff that is not so you just have to check it out really good because they don't return anything.  They usually get a big shipment in and it will get cheaper and cheaper as the week goes on.  Lots of times even 90% off.  Nothing is greatly organized and usually just thrown on the shelf, but I don't mind digging for a deal.  Today my mom and I went and she got me these 3 shirts.

The black pullover was $3 and its Lands End, black sweater was $5 and the pink cardigan was $4(Target)   They have tons of clothes and none are usually over $7 and tons of different brands and they are new.  I have evens seen clothes for .50,  but you really have to check it over for rips.

So as we were walking out of the door they usually have buggy's upfront with things they couldn't sell and they fill the buggy with tons of things for $10.00.  They fill it full and put clear wrap around it so you can't look through it.  Today they had luggage in those $10 buggy's so I got 3 pieces of luggage for $10...crazy I know!  There are two of them that are American Tourister and the other I can't remember what kind it is.  I have seen all kinds of things in those buggy's.  One time I have seen it filled with tons of housewares from Target.

Here are some pictures of my bedroom.  I really need to get some panels in there soon.  The turquoise comforter at the end of my bed was from Dirt Cheap too for $15 and so was my white comforter with shams for $20.

My dresser is a work in progress.  I still need to get some pulls for it.  Thrift store find for $10 and it was a super ugly shade of green.

Our master bath.  White shower curtain was from Dirt Cheap for $4

Have you found any great bargains lately?

Wreath love

I absolutely adore the simplicity of green wreaths against white windows.  I really love them with my panels.  I made the wreaths last week with grapevine wreath from hobby lobby for $1.50 and really long vines that was about $15 for enough to make all 4 wreaths.  I just hot glued the greenery in the same direction until I had it all filled up and you couldn't see any wreath.  I hung it with some ribbon that I already had.  So this project was about $22.  I hung them up with the Command hooks on my blinds.  I also hung one in my kitchen.

Here are some pictures of my kitchen.  I am not sure that I love things on top of my cabinets.  What do you think does it look to cluttered?

This is a little wall between my kitchen and dining room.

Happy Tuesday!

Branches in a vase

I have seen this couple of times with branches from a tree in a pretty vase with ornaments and I love it.  I knew that I wanted to do that this year.  So I gathered several tree branches from my yard and these were really cool too!  I put them in my sorry of excuse mercury glass vase and added the balls with the clip-on bird.  I really liked how it turned out!

I started early decorating this year for Christmas because I really like enjoying it for as long as I can.  Here are some pictures of my dining room.  I made the "W" hanging in the window with garland.  I love turquoise and green!

I got the old carpenters toolbox at a thrift store for $5 and I love it!
